  • Split moong dal - 250g
  • Turmeric - a pinch
  • Salt - to taste
  • Grated coconut - 1/2 a coconut
  • Cumin - 1/2 tsp
  • Coconut oil - 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 stalk
Methods/steps
  1. Heat a wok or pan and fry the dal. Take care that it should not turn brown.
  2. Boil watter in a vessel and cook the dal with turmeric until soft.
  3. Grind the coconut and cumin together into a smooth paste.
  4. Add it to the cooked dal with salt and boil. Remove from fire and garnish with heated cocnut oil and curry leaves.
Additional Tips

It goes well with rice, papadams and ghee.
