Rice Kheer
Description
This is the basic recipe for a rice kheer. You can make various alternate versions using this basic recipe.
Ingredients
3 - 4 cups of whole milk, diluted with 1 - 2 cups of water
1 cup rice (basmati rice is best) 1 cup condensed milk 1/2 cup sugar 1 tablespoon raisins 1 tablespoon of dry roasted pistachios nut pieces. (Roasted cashews or almonds are also fine) 1 teaspoon finely powdered elaichi (cardamom) seeds Methods/steps
Additional Tips
- Make sure the pistachios are roasted - The thickness of the kheer can be adjusted with the quantity of water - Can be served hot or cold. I personally like it cold.
